Weekly Digital News: Don’t Just Talk, Listen

Everyone looks forward to Fridays. But this Friday is sweeter than most – today marks the unofficial start of summer with Memorial Day Weekend only hours away, and of course, another edition of your favorite weekly reading material.

In PR and Marketing, one of the primary goals is to engage with people that, in turn, will talk about your company or brand. However, the below articles remind us of an important concept … if you truly want to reach an audience, you must remember that a conversation is two-sided.

Media Post “Tropicana Juices Women’s Communities”- This week, Tropicana launched “The Juice” website and community to promote the newest product in its line – Trop50. I totally agree. Most campaigns I’ve seen, blog based campaigns, are like laborious Easter egg hunts.

For a chance to win something you are obligated to go to one site, come back to another, tweet, post, share in many ways … it’s endless really.

And a chore. Yes, there is the appearance of a 2 sided conversation. But is that really what it is?

Woman communicate in a lot of fun and wonderful ways if given the chance. But I’ve seen very few campaigns where we are allowed to communicate freely and creatively.
