Why the Boss Rocks
Not THAT boss. THE Boss. I got to see Bruce Springsteen at Gillette Stadium over the weekend, along with Stacey Clement from our office and our SOs. The concert was rain-delayed (they actually had to clear the field of fans as lightening passed through Foxboro), but worth the wait, of course.
There are so many reasons why Bruce Springsteen rocks, but one that I always come back to is that the guy loves what he does – and he shows it night after night on stage. I’ve seen him three times and watched countless interviews and he always brings his full game. “What else am I going to do? I like the way it makes me feel…it thrills me, it excites me,” Springsteen said in the 60 Minutes interview.
There are many performers from decades past that are on “revival” tours. I got to see another one of my favorites, Van Morrison, a couple of years ago at the Orpheum in Boston. But none exudes the energy and passion that Bruce Springsteen does. It’s nothing less than awesome to watch someone who loves what they do as much as Springsteen does, and I guess that could apply to any profession. Tim Russert brought the same to TV journalism; Springsteen dedicated his opening concert on this summer’s tour to Russert.
If Bruce Springsteen ever strutted over to the PR world, it would be the ultimate “dog and pony show.” Oh, and here’s a bit of E Street Band trivia: Which band member played for the NY Giants?

I agree – any way you look at it Bruce rocks. Kind of like our “Boss!”
OK, now that is too cute, but I’ll take it – thanks Stacey! And for those of your wondering, it was Clarence Clemens who played for the
New York Giants before joining the E Street Band.
