Kate Hudson’s Boston
Boston has become a mecca for film makers in the past few years.  Kate Hudson has been back in town filming her latest movie “Bride Wars.” While in town, Kate, son Ryder and friends stopped in at some of my favorite neighborhood spots. While they were already Boston’s best in my book, a celeb visit makes these spots seem all the more hot.
If you’re in town and wondering ”what would Kate do?,” here’s a short list of stops, all on Charles Street in Beacon Hill:
Upper Crust Pizza: Awesome, brick oven pizza, one big community table and a few stools, with Euro sports on a flat-screen. The Charles Street location is the original Upper Crust - now there are several in and around the city.
Bin 26: Bin 26 is a relatively new, chic wine bar owned and managed by Babek Bina, who also operates Lala Rokh, just off Charles on Mount Vernon Street.
Moxie: Moxie offers one of the best selections of designer shoes, bags and other accessories in Boston. Owner Karen Fabbri worked for a high-tech PR agency before opening her boutique. She’s in the store most days to offer that personal shopper experience.
Rugg Road: They actually filmed a scene right in Rugg Road a couple of weeks ago, with Kate’s character picking out wedding invitations. Rugg Road features hand-made stationery, unique cards, photo albums and scrap books.
I’m also a fan of Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro, a charming Charles Street B&B and buzzing, authentic bistro. In fact we’re hosting our Converge network dinner there this week (more on Converge in an upcoming post).
If you’ve got a favorite spot in Boston, we (and the thousands of tourists headed to Boston this summer) would love to hear about it!

Rugg Road is great. A bit pricey, for sure, but great. I had to take photos of the store for a story about them for the Emerson College newspaper as a student, believe it or not!
Beacon Hill Bistro has GREAT FRENCH FRIES! I don’t think Kate Hudson eats too many french fries, do you?
A “source” just told me Kate and son Ryder also stopped in at The Paramount while in town, which serves eggs, pancakes and other breakfast fare all day. http://www.paramountboston.com.
